HCF and LCM Lesson Plan

This 75 minute geometry lesson focuses on finding the highest common factor and lowest common multiple of pairs of numbers. The teacher will introduce herself, review expectations, and state the learning objective. Students will then spend 10 minutes answering quick questions on finding the highest common factor using factor trees. They will practice finding the lowest common multiple by drawing multiple trains. The main activity will have students spend 20 minutes working on further practice questions while articulating their reasoning. Students will then copy notes for 20 minutes. To finish, they will have 5 minutes to work on additional questions and reflect on their learning.
