Design of Solar Cell

This document discusses the design and analysis of solar cells. It introduces thermoelectric effects such as the Peltier effect, Thomson effect, and Seebeck effect which allow thermoelectric generators to directly convert heat into electrical energy. It describes different materials used in thermoelectric generators including semiconductors like Bi2Te3 alloys and metals. The document outlines objectives to design high efficient thermoelectric generators and minimize costs. It provides an overview of the content which includes introductions, literature review, work done, and future work on thermoelectric generators.

INTRODUCTION
device which convert heat directly into
electrical energy, using phenomenon called The Seebeck effect

Seebeck effect is based on Thermoelectric Phenomena: Peltier effect Thomson effect

PELTIER EFFECT
When two dissimilar material are placed in same temperature then heat release or absorbed
A B

= Peltier Coefficient of material A = Peltier Coefficient of material B

THOMSON EFFECT
When a single material placed in different temperature
then heat release or absorb.

Q = (T/ x) I
= Thomson coefficient

SEEBECK EFFECT
Voltage developed when two dissimilar material
are placed at different temperature.

SB = Seebeck Coefficient of Material B SA = Seebeck Coefficient of Material A
