DAFF - Implementation of Changed Treatment Provider Identification System
DAFF - Implementation of Changed Treatment Provider Identification System
of Changed Treatment Provider Identification System. I trust that my letter finds you in good health. I am writing to advise you of the changes being made to the offshore methyl bromide treatment provider identification system used by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF). As a registered Australian Fumigation Accreditation Scheme (AFAS) treatment provider, your company has a unique AFAS identification number. This number is displayed with your company details on the DAFF Offshore Methyl Bromide Treatment Providers List and is required to be included on all methyl bromide fumigation certificates issued by your company for Australian bound consignments. Over recent months, DAFF has implemented a number of changes that have required an adjustment to the format of treatment provider identification. Due to these changes, your AFAS identification has changed and is now known as an AEI. Your companys AEI uses the same two letter country code and four digit number as your AFAS identification, however a treatment code has been added to the end. For AFAS registered treatment providers this treatment code is MB for Methyl Bromide. You can see your new AEI listed with your companys details on the DAFF Offshore Methyl Bromide Treatment Providers List at: www.daff.gov.au/aqis/import/general-info/pre-border/afas/providers Commencing immediately, DAFF requires that you include your newly allocated AEI, as it appears on the DAFF Offshore Methyl Bromide Treatment Providers List, on all methyl bromide fumigation certificates issued by your company for Australian bound consignments. Should you have any questions regarding these changes you can contact me at [email protected] or the AFAS contact in your country: www.daff.gov.au/aqis/about/contact/afas. Yours sincerely
