Equipping students to impact the world for Christ Do Hard Things

October 15, 2012

Dear Parents, We hope that you are checking the blog regularly. The students who have taken Brisky, Teddy and Bubblez have their stories posted along with many of the activities we are doing in the classroom. We would enjoy receiving comments from more of the parents. Please feel free to share the blog with grandparents and relatives who would be interested in what your child is doing in school. The students had a grand time with their buddies on Friday using photo booth. Language arts - The water cycle poem is on the blog. The students worked in groups to say and act out the poem. We will be working on various types of writing this week as part of the Bible assessment. In reading we will be continuing with choosing an area of focus, short vowel sounds, and more strategies and Kevin Henkes books. Bible - Our final section of Luke 2 is due this week, verses 16-20. We will be working in class on the final assessment for our unit on the birth of Jesus.

Mathematics - The Voicethread of addition strategies is almost complete. It will be posted on the blog later this week. We will continue to work on addition and subtraction strategies as we also begin working on place value and money.

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. Luke 2:16-20
