Boston Lyric Opera is entering its fifth year under the leadership of general and artistic director Esther Nelson and managing director Dan Duro, who in collaboration with artistic operations director Nicholas Russell and artistic advisor John Conklin are producing adventurous work with high musical standards and production values.

Technical Production Manager Full-time or seasonal resident position, competitively salaried with full benefits; seasonal flexibility. Overall duties: Scenic and lighting planning, documentation, and supervision. SCENIC Prepare planning and bid documents, including groundplan/section/hanging schedule/spotting sheets Prepare stage labor estimates; maintain & report updates daily when in production Schedule shipping & receiving: trucking schedule, logistics, & long haul freight arrangements Prepare and submit IATSE stagehand, wardrobe and Teamster crew calls to Local #11 Arrange & coordinate equipment rentals Hire & supervise non-union overhire personnel Apply & secure permits/certifications Oversee stage installation & show running under a detailed working schedule Reconcile house settlement statement expenses Code payables LIGHTING Direct & oversee the work of the lighting supervisor Coordinate rigging & other technical requirements with lighting supervisor & head electrician Schedule shipping & receiving FACILITIES Maintain warehouse & inventories PLANNING Participate in production feasibility studies & advance scheduling Requirements 5+ years experience with scenic & lighting installations, IATSE crews Solid rigging knowledge and experience, including counterweight, hemp and motors Facility with MS Office suite, ACAD, VW2013 Contact: Dan Duro, Managing Director [[email protected]] 11 Avenue de Lafayette., 4th Floor Boston, MA 02111
