Unit Plan Food

This unit plan focuses on teaching first level students about food and quantities. Over two lessons, students will learn to quantify foods, identify countable and uncountable nouns, listen to descriptions of dishes and their ingredients, and imagine themselves as chefs by choosing a dish to prepare and reporting on the ingredients needed. Assessment includes having students make lists of ingredients for typical meals using quantifiers, drawing the ingredients for a dish they would prepare, and telling their classmates about it. The overall aims are for students to learn food vocabulary and be able to use quantities to prepare dishes, while also developing respectful participation and work with peers.
