Share QuickBooks data between Mac and Windows

Mac > Windows


Open your data le in QuickBooks Accounting 2009 for Mac, choose
File > Back Up to QuickBooks for Windows, choose a name and location for the le, and then click Save.
After the backup le is created, you can click Show File in Finder to locate the .QBB le on your computer. QuickBooks also creates an Instructional PDF le in the same location with the same name as your company le.

Share QuickBooks data between Windows and Mac


Windows > Mac
Open the data le in QuickBooks Accounting 2009 for Windows, and choose
File > Utilities > Copy Company File for QuickBooks Mac to save the le as a .QBB backup le.

Send both the .QBB le and the Instructional PDF le to the Windows
user via CD-ROM, USB drive, Zip disk, or Flash drive.
(Most Macs read and write data to and from PC-formatted media.)

In QuickBooks Accounting 2009 for Windows,

1 choose File > Open or Restore Company, and follow the onscreen prompts. When asked to update the le, mark the checkbox and click Update Now.

Send the .QBB le to the Mac user via CD-ROM, USB drive, Zip disk,

or Flash drive. (Most Macs read and write data to and from PC-formatted media.)

In QuickBooks Accounting 2009 for Mac, choose File > Open Company,
select the .QBB le, and click Open.

Review the le and make any necessary changes. To send the le back for use on a Mac, follow the instructions
on the other side of this card.
1. Intuit QuickBooks Accounting 2009 for Mac .QBB les can be restored in Intuit QuickBooks Accounting Pro, Premier, and Premier Accountant Edition 2009 for Windows (U.S. versions, round-trip: between Mac and Windows).

a. QuickBooks will ask if you want to restore a QuickBooks for Windows le; click OK.

b. Enter a name for the restored le, and click Save.
