SYLLABICATION

Syllabication is a process of dividing words to determine their syllable type. The Process of Dividing Syllables: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Underline the vowels Label the letters from vowel to vowel (c=consonant, v=vowel) Identify the division pattern Divide the word into syllables Determine the syllable type Mark vowels based on syllable type (long, short, or silent letters) Pronounce each syllable individually Scoop & Pronounce the entire word
