* The new hunks and chunks I learned this week- ice and ace (What sound the c makes when it is followed by a vowel like e or i)

We will begin reading the many different versions of Gingerbread stories next week. We will also begin looking at the author Jan Brett, her books and her style of writing and illustrating.

* Reading books and the Scholastic News about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The book, Happy Birthday Martin Luther King that we read on his birthday, January 15th

* The work I did using a dictionary to look up ice and ace words * The Martin Luther King, My Dream, writing and the handprints I did to go along with it * The next letters in my handwriting book I have been practicing

* Learning to read a thermometer and using the ipads to nd cities that have warmer and cooler temperatures than our cities * Using non-standard units of measurement to measure objects in and around our classroom (digit, hand span, pace, etc.)
