Attempt The Following Questions: Page 1 of 2

This document contains instructions for a final exam in systems analysis consisting of two questions. Question I involves using an impulse response function to find the output of a linear time-invariant system given its impulse response and input. Question II involves analyzing a differential equation model of a linear time-invariant system with a unit step input, including determining initial conditions, poles, zeros, gains, and impulse response. The exam is for a third year engineering course at Minia University and allows 1.5 hours for completion.

Attempt the following questions

Question(I): The impulse response function, h(t) of a LTI system is given in Figure 1.a. Find the output for the input shown in Figure 1.b

Question (II): The differential equation model of a LTI system is ( ) ( ) ( ) ( ) ( ) ( ) ( ) ( )

The input signal is a unit-step one. 1.1) Determine the initial conditions at t=0+. 1.2) Compute the system poles. Is the system stable? Why?

1.3) Compute the system zeros. Is the system a nonminimum phase one? Why? 1.4) What is the dc gain and the feedforward gain of the system? 1.5)Compute the homogenous solution, the particular solution, and the complete solution of the system. 1.6)Find the impulse response of the system. 1.7) Check your result in (1.6).
