This document presents actual and projected full-time enrollment numbers for degree-granting postsecondary institutions in the United States from 1991 to 2016. It provides enrollment figures for total enrollment as well as breakdowns by sector (public 4-year, public 2-year, private 4-year, and private 2-year). The document also presents three projections for enrollment between 2006 and 2016 - middle, low, and high alternatives. Total enrollment is projected to increase from around 13.4 million in 2006 to between 15.5 and 15.9 million in 2016 depending on the projection scenario.
