The Week in Review

Students showed o their learning in science, math, and writing this week, with assessments and reections across the subject areas. I am impressed and they are proud to see how they are growing as mathematicians, writers and scientists: their writing is developing voice, their operations with decimals are secure, and their scientic reasoning is mature and methodical. In reading, book club groups are working through tough social issues that characters face, and discussing with increasing maturity the ways that authors portray these issues. We also pooled our combined donations from Read to Feed through Heifer International, and the class earned a total of 13,282 baht! The class had a healthy discussion about how best to give the money that they raised for the biggest benet for the most people. I was impressed with their level of consideration of not only the immediate needs of a family, but the long-term prot-earning benets of their gift to the entire community. Thank you for all of your donations to this wonderful cause!
