Storm Water Drainage projects for consideration under UIDSSMT: Procedure for preparation and submission of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)
The storm water drainage system may be designed following the guidelines given in the Manual on Sewerage and Sewage Treatment (2nd Edition, 1993) based on analysis of frequency of storms by Rational method; otherwise some well proven method derived based on rainfall data analysis for a particular type of catchment may also be adopted. The typical example is given at Appendix 3.1 of the said manual may be referred to for guidance.
A.
General :
Whether this sub-project is contemplated as part of the overall CDP of the city? Yes/No.: If yes, the DPR should contain the following: o General description of the town; o Details of population as per 2001 census, present and future design population. o Present condition of the city such as, area and population covered by SWD system, o Justification / need for the proposed SWD project, o Area/ population to be covered by under the proposed project , o Soil characteristics, topography, geology of the town etc. o Ground water table in different seasons,

Technical: City map, index map, Master Plan/ Land Use pattern of city for deciding the contributing areas in the drainage districts of the city duly coloured. Drainage Master Plan to help implement drainage project based on priority of various localities so that implementation of project can be done in phased manner. Rainfall intensity-duration data to arrive at the run off quantity of storm flow. The rainfall data for 25-50 years needs to be analyzed. The DPR should be prepared based on: Proper survey and investigation of storm water drains alignment; Bearing capacity of the soil; Structural design of drain section; Drawing containing the particulars of drain section; Detailed cost estimate based on approved current schedule of rates prevailing in the States; 1. The DPR should include details of, Financing pattern and financial phasing; Implementation schedule; Agency responsible for implementation of O&M; Revenue, if any; Method of meeting the annual O&M expense; Institution responsible for implementation and O&M. Annual O&M expenditure and action plan for effective O&M through imposition of user charges Clearances/ Permission from other Ministries namely Ministry of Environment and Forest (Environmental angle), NHAI and Railways, if required, may be furnished.
