Appendix - B - Format of Importer - Exporter Code Number

This document provides the format for an Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) Number certificate issued by the Government of India Ministry of Commerce & Industry. The certificate includes: 1) The name and address of the IEC holder 2) The address of any branches, divisions, units or factories 3) The assigned IEC Number 4) The date of issue 5) The IEC holder's PAN Number 6) A note that any changes to the IEC holder's name, address or constitution requires updating the IEC within 60 days.

In case of any change in the name/address or constitution of IEC holder, the IEC
holder shall cease to be eligible to import or export against the IEC number
after expiry of 60 days from the date of such change unless in the meantime, the
consequential changes are effected in the IEC by the concerned licensing
authority.
