Kosi Bay Mouth
This pristine estuarine system offers fantastic snorkeling, rock & surf fishing, fly-fishing, walking and bird watching opportunities. Self-drive A 4x4 vehicle is essential and entry permits are required from the KZN Wildlife office located nearby the lodge. Guided excursion Join our qualified tour guide and share his intimate knowledge of the area. 4x4 Transport, entrance fees and guide service are included in the cost.

Banga Nek
Offers unspoilt deserted beaches, excellent rock & surf fishing, bird watching or just sunbathing in this pristine environment. Self-drive/own boat: 20min by boat (weather dependent) or +- 1.5 hours (4x4 only), or boat transfer provided by Kosi Bay Lodge.

Black Rock
Prime rock & surf fishing destination, snorkeling in the shallow bay, long walks on deserted beaches and bird watching on the scenic drive there. Tembe Elephant Park


A sanctuary for elephants was established in the early 1980s on community owed land. Today the park is home to the big 5. Spend relaxing hours at a hide overlooking the waterhole or travel the sandy tracks in search of the elusive lions. Ndumo Game Reserve


A sanctuary for wildlife where South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland meet. It is a bird watchers paradise with over 350 species recorded and the rarely seen Pals Fishing Owl one of the main species on the tick list Self-drive An entry permit is required from the main entrance to the park. Trogon Walking Trail


Self-guided walking trails surround the edges of 3rd Lake (Lake Nhlange) and crisscross through the Nswamanzi Forest. This dense sand forest is home to many bird species such as Nerina Trogon, Crested Hornbill, Brown Hooded Kingfisher and, for the a select few, the rare Palm Nut Vulture. Local guides can be arranged on request.
