Automatic Sun Tracking System

This document presents an automatic sun tracking system. The system uses sensors to constantly monitor sunlight and rotate a solar panel towards the direction with maximum sunlight intensity. This allows the panel to maintain its position facing the sun, improving efficiency by compensating for the earth's rotation. The system includes components like a microcontroller, stepper motor, solar cells, and sensors to detect the sun's position during day and night. It has applications for powering homes, streets lights, and battery charging in remote areas where solar energy is a cheap electricity source.

Introduction
This system is completely automatic and keeps the panel in front of sun until that is visible. The unique feature of this system is that instead of taking the earth as its reference, it takes the sun as a guiding source.

Its active sensors constantly monitor the sunlight and rotate the panel towards the direction where the intensity of sunlight is maximum.

Origin of the Proposal

The output of solar cells depends on the intensity of sunlight and the angle of incidence. Due to rotation of earth those panels cant maintain their position always in front of sun. This problem results in decrease of their efficiency.

In remote areas the sun is a cheap source of electricity

Main Features

Concept & Technology

It converts solar energy into electrical energy. The solar plate move automatically with the help of solar sensors as the sun is moving. When the sun rays incident on the solar panel the electrons are colliding and produce electrical energy.

Applications
It can be used in villages. It can be used in street lights, houses. It can be also used in battery charging.

Conclusion
ASTS is a prototype towards a real system, but still its software and hardware can be used to drive a real and very huge solar panel. A small portable battery can drive its control circuitry.
