Cross Cultural Communication

This document discusses cross-cultural communication and cultural differences that can impact communication. It notes that culture is the lens through which people view the world. There are visible differences like communication styles, attitudes, and decision making, as well as invisible differences like beliefs, values, and expectations between cultures. These differences can cause problems if miscommunications occur or cultures are improperly generalized. The two major types of cultural differences that affect communication are differences in body language and physical contact, as well as differences in views on relationships. Examples are provided like different uses of eye contact, personal space norms, and acceptance of displays of emotion across cultures.
