Design of Backing Wall & Bed Block

This document provides design details for the backing wall and bed blocks of a bridge. The backing wall is 1.2 meters wide and 1.986 meters tall. Reinforcement includes 12mm diameter tor steel bars spaced at 140mm centers vertically and 10mm diameter bars at 200mm centers horizontally. The abutment bed block is 1.2 meters wide with 8 bars of 12mm diameter steel provided at the top and bottom at a spacing of 12.23cm. Stirrups of 10mm diameter bars are provided at 120mm centers. The pier bed block is 1.8 meters wide with 12 bars of 12mm diameter steel provided at the top and bottom at a spacing of 11.64cm
