Parker Teresa Rancik COM 101 Narration Essay 3/9/2013

While at work on an early Friday afternoon, roughly one year ago today. I was summoned to the conference room, that is in the back of

the building. I approached the conference room and opened the door with some hesitation, only to find my peers sitting at the conference table. All were staring at a new candidate that was there to be interviewed. I looked across the room to see a man dressed in a pin stripe suit with creases that would make a military man proud at inspection. Although he was only of medium height he projected to be 10 feet tall. He had a confidence that seemed to fill the room and everyone felt it. I approached him to welcome him with a handshake and I could feel his strength and positive attitude. Names were exchanged and he waited until I sat down before taking his seat. My peers and I were

interviewing for a position, that would involve all of us working together as a team. Questions were asked about his background, and he would use analogies to draw a clear picture with every answer. I felt as though I was watching television being able to see the answers in which he was so diligently giving. Each of us sat captivated by the way he narrated his answers. Questions continued to flow back and forth. He made the pitch and sold us all. You could see by my fellow peers demeanor that this individual had an accepting audience, yes we had finally found the individual needed to fulfill the role required. At the end of this enthralling interview I opened the door for our

candidate to leave. I shook his hand, and with a look of respect and

acceptance he gladly accepted with a firm hand shake. He then said with a smile I hope to hear from you soon. Today he sits diagonally across the room from me. He is very respected and a team player. His contributions have helped us all and this company.
