The present continuous (progressive) I.

Form:

The present continuous is formed with an auxiliary verb to indicate an action that is happening right now. 1. Affirmative : E.g. I am walking you are walking we are walking She is walking He is walking it is walking 2. Negative : E.g. I am not walking you are not walking we are not walking She is not walking He is not walking it is not working 3. Interrogative : E.g. Am I walking? are you walking? are we walking? Is she walking? Is he walking? is it working? 4. Negative Interrogative : E.g. Arent I walking? arent you walking? arent we walking? Isnt she walking? Isnt he walking? isnt it walking?

Use

We use it to talk about actions that are happening now in this moment. E.g. what are you reading? To talking about a developing situation. E.g. the weather is getting colder. Used for a near future. E.g. Im going to leave the room.
