Evaluating the Integration of Technology & Programs into the Curriculum

Does the proposed tool/ program lead to student success? This is the main questions we are trying to answer as teachers. When you use this evaluation criteria please keep in mind context (what you are teaching at the time and the learning goals that are to be achieved according to the curricular expectation). When checking the boxes make sure you are answering these as yes or no questions. Put a Y for yes and an N for no. All of the questions are set up so that a Y for yes deems the technology or program as effective for that criterion. If most of your answers are yes then it is worth using this technology/ program, but it is imperative that you monitor your students progress and that you are constantly assessing the programs usefulness towards students achievement and success. 1. Does the technology/ program support learning with understanding rather than superficial learning? If the technology is subject/ topic specific, does it cover the fundamental understanding of said topic? Or does it go into deeper understanding of the topic? Will students be using the technology/ program as a tool to enhance their learning experience? 2. Is the use of technology informed by relevant learning/motivational theories? Can you clearly identify a link between the technology/ program to a theory proposed in earlier pages? If yes list the learning theory and justification here ______________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________

3. Is the use of technology supported extensively for both teachers and learners? Is their sufficient support for you to implement this technology/ program? Will your students spend more time using the technology than learning how to use the technology OR will your students spend more time benefiting from the program or spend more time learning how to navigate through the program? Is this technology/ program easy to use?

4. Is the technology accessible to learners? Does the cost of the technology fit into the parameters of your school, you, or your students financial reach? What type of access is required? Fill in your answer here ________________________ Do you and your students have access? Do all your student have access to this technology / program? (take into consideration individual diversity and needs) 5. Does the technology provide or allow for meaningful feedback for formative and/or summative purposes? Can you measure student understanding? Does the technology/ program reveal student misconceptions? Does the student have the opportunity to reflect and revise based on the feedback they receive? Good Luck with your technology/ program!
