Teaching Belief Statements

Teachers must be constantly learning, growing and adapting to best meet their students' needs. A teacher should be a knowledge facilitator, not a dictator. If a child doesn't learn the way you teach, teach the way they learn.

1. I believe that students work best when they are in a positive and supportive learning environment. 2. I believe that students learn more when they are engaged in play, having fun and actively participating. 3. I believe that the teachers who reach the most students are the ones who take an active interest in their students lives inside and outside of the classroom. 4. I believe teachers must be constantly learning, growing and adapting to best meet their students needs. 5. I believe that a teacher should be a knowledge facilitator, not a dictator. 6. I believe that the best learning comes from experience and reflection. 7. I believe that emotions generate learning. 8. I believe that the best teaching is relevant, simple and exciting. 9. I believe that the role of the teacher is to help students become independent, critical thinkers. 10. I believe that if a child doesnt learn the way you teach, teach the way they learn. 11. I believe in equality in the classroom.
