Time : 30 minutes
Science Process Skills: Communicating, observing Scientific Attitudes and Noble Values: Realizing that science is a means to understand nature Teaching Aids : CD Rom, pictures, word cards, worksheets, LCD, Screen

SET INDUCTION: Teacher : Teacher shows a picture to the class using the powerpoint Pupils respond : Teacher : What can you see? Pupils respond : Teacher : Yes, youre right. Name some of the parts of the animals that you can see. Pupils respond: Teacher : Yes, very good. Pupils respond:

STEP 1
Teacher : Now look and listen to the CD Rom that Im going to show you. ( Teacher plays the CD Rom) Teacher : Teacher pauses the CD Rom at certain segments and asks questions Name the external features of the cat, tortoise, parrot and fish Do you know any other animals? Can you name some of the external features.
Pupils respond:

(Teacher shows the word cards) Look at the words and read after me. Spell the words

: Now pupils, I give some of you the word cards. Please come forward and paste them to the correct places : Shall we check the answers? Good everyone is correct. Now lets try the second picture. : Good work! I will distribute the worksheet for you as homework. Please hand in tomorrow morning and put them on my table. Thank you. The most correct answers will get a lollipop from me. Do remember to read the instructions carefully before you answer. ( Teacher distributes the worksheets.)

CLOSURE:
Teacher : Teacher displays the word maze on the powerpoint and gives pupils 3 minutes to list as many words regarding external features. The group that has the most number of words correctly is the winner.
