We are going to make a short animation

Task 1
Step 1. Open Flash. Start- All Programs – Core Programs - Macromedia-
Macromedia flash

Step 2. Click on the dot shown here.

Step 3. Draw a circle on the page.

Hint: Click on the circle icon and drag the + icon to


draw a circle

Well done, you have created the ball, now you are going to make it move!

Task 2.
Step 4. Select a segment on the grid further down e.g 30
and right click. Then select Insert Keyframe

Step 5. Select the pointer tool.

Step 6. Move the circle to where you want it to be when


the movement stops e.g. the other side of the page.

Step 7. Drag the mouse from the first dot to the second one.
The space in between should go black.

Step 8. Right click anywhere in the black section and


select Create Motion Tween
Using a motion tween means that the ball will go
smoothly from one side of the screen to the other.

Now it looks like this

Step 9. Click Control - Play to watch your animation.
Task 3 – crazy!
The ball has decided to go crazy but it needs your help. Make the ball bounce all
over the page. It is easy, just insert some more key frames.
It will move faster if you use more Key Frames!
Don’t forget to Motion Tween!

Task 4 – Splat!
Can you make the ball splat when it hits the side of the page?

Hint: Step 1.Insert a key frame and move the ball where you want it to
go.

Step 2. Click on the Free Transform Tool

Your ball should now look like this

Step 3. Change the shape of the ball by dragging on the little black squares so
that it looks squashed.

It should look something like this.

Step 4. Press the Return/Enter key to play your animation.

Task 5 – The ball gets a friend.

Step 1. Add a new layer by clicking on this symbol.


Your new layer always goes to the top.

Step 2. Click on the first dot on the top layer.

You are now ready to create a new bouncing ball.
