Multiple SSID With Multiple VLANs Configuration Example On

This document provides a configuration example for setting up multiple SSIDs and VLANs on Cisco Aironet access points. It assumes two VLANs (51 and 52) mapped to two SSIDs (one and two) with different encryption types (WEP and WPA-PSK). The configuration involves mapping SSIDs to VLANs, assigning encryption to SSIDs, configuring subinterfaces for the dot11 radio and Ethernet interfaces, and verifying the configuration. The trunk port configuration on the switch connecting to the AP is also provided.

Multiple SSID With Multiple VLANs configuration example on Cisco Aironet APs

By Surendra B.G TAC Engineer, Cisco Systems.

Config Check points

Assumption:I assume that you have configured the DHCP pool on the IOS switch or the Router or on the dedicated DHCP server. Design: Assuming we have 2 VLANs (51 and 52 ) with native as 10 and mapping to 2 different SSIDs (one and two) on any Aironet Access Points. SSID ONE uses WEP encryption SSID TWO uses WPA-PSK Assuming the AP Ethernet port is connected to Gig 0/7 port of the switch. Broadcasting both the SSIDs.

Check Points
Step 1>> Configure the SSID and Map it to respective VLANS.. Step 2 >> Assigning the Encryption to different SSIDs with respective VLANs. Step 3 >> Configuring the sub interface for Dot11 radio 0/1 and Ethernet. Step 4>> Verification.

Check Point
Switchport configuration

interface GigabitEthernet0/7 description 1141 AP IOS switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q switchport trunk native vlan 10 switchport mode trunk end

END!!!
I really appreciate your feedback Regards Surendra
