WOMEN It can be argued that our opening title sequence for the film Edward can represent the social group of women in society. Our opening title sequences main focus on girls, which is a suggestive social groups. We have therefore portrayed the idea that women are weak and vulnerable in comparison to men and therefore they were the focus on our sequence and their likeliness to be chased, and more specifically in the woods.

MENTAL ILLNESS Our storyline for the opening title sequence is about a man named Edward, which was eventually our choice for the title, who is mentally disturbed and finds pleasure in killing girls. It can therefore be suggested that Edward has mental problems, so this implies another social group of those with mental illnesses and creates the idea that some people do in fact have problems and that is why they kill. This character of Edward is also not seen at all throughout the sequence that creates a sense of mystery and this lack of absence could suggest the absence of a normal state in his mind.
