mood to start the session. 1. Arrival activity. Engage quickly, physically & mentally. 4-6 mins

Coach checks for understanding, chance for players to think about their performance, and for coach to check with players what worked/didnt work, and what they enjoyed/didnt enjoy.

A. Individual challenges and development.

8. Reflection for coach & players, reciprocal feedback, highlight key moments from end match to allow players to discuss, and reflect post session. 2-4 mins.

Get players in a positive and open frame of mind, and so they feel ready to learn. 2. Session intro. Manage environment & mood, introduce topic and discuss its match application. 1-3 mins.

Chance for players to enjoy the game, use their new skills if they choose to, but with no pressure to do so.

B. Unit related challenges, working in positional groups for team activities.

7. Small sided game. Not adapted, manage environment, not directly instruct. 4-6 mins.

Adaptation should provide situations for your topic to be brought out, but not force players to utilise it. Allow them to make their own decisions, whatever the session topic.

Similar or same adaptation as no.3, should provide players with the opportunity to implement what they have learnt, allows players to see/understand how the skills they have learnt are relevant and useful.

3. Adapted small sided game. Prompt players to consider application of topic with questioning. 7-9 mins. Players practice techniques without pressure of defenders.

C. Reassessing & adapting players goals & aims.
