Position: Development Projects’ Officer

Reporting to: Deputy Country Director/Programme Manager

Start Date: Immediate
Job Grade: Grade E
Nature of Contract: One year - renewable

Position Description
• Identify new project opportunities and develop new proposals.
• Manage implementation of development projects ensuring compliance with monitoring and
evaluation requirements.
• Monitor, review and recommend various partners budgets, expenditures, advances request and
financial reports ensuring compliance with FTC and donor requirements and regulations.
• Provide technical assistance in training and implementing of projects activities to various partners.
• Design and conduct both qualitative and quantitative baseline rapid and end of project assessments
that will provide information for efficient project management.
• Maintain excellent relations with communities, partners, donors and network with other NGOs.
• Liaise closely with relevant Ministries other agencies implementing projects in target in order to
promote coordinated approach.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelors degree in Community Development, Development Studies, Social Work or related
disciplines.
• Hands on experience in designing and implementing development projects
• Able to travel in the various remote parts of Kenya
• A minimum of 3 years working experience preferably in an NGO setting.
• Fluent in English and Swahili both written and oral.
• Experience in training adults using participatory adult learning methodologies
• Proven effective representation skills to varied stakeholders and partners
• Ability to work well with others and with minimum supervision.
• Excellent analytical and computer skills (Microsoft office).
• Demonstrated excellent writing skills for donor and internal reports
