Design of On Operating Theatre Complex

The document summarizes key considerations for the design of an operating theatre complex, including its location, zoning, air quality, temperature, and essential equipment. The operating theatre should be located on the first floor for easy access to wards, lifts, and other departments. It is divided into three zones - an outer zone for access and storage, a clean zone for supplies and preparation, and an aseptic zone containing the operating theatres. Air quality is crucial, with laminar airflow and high air changes to minimize particles. Temperature and humidity should be carefully controlled. Operating tables must be movable and adjustable to position patients comfortably. Other essential equipment includes emergency power, medical gases, suction, and resuscitation devices.
