Transistor Ce Characteristics (Input & Output)

1. The document describes an experiment to obtain the input and output characteristics of a transistor in a CE configuration. Key steps include varying the base-emitter voltage and collector-emitter voltage while measuring currents and voltages to plot the input and output graphs. 2. Readings would be recorded for input characteristics with the collector-emitter voltage held constant, and for output characteristics with the base current held constant. 3. The graphs and hybrid parameters including input impedance, output admittance, forward current gain, and reverse voltage gain would then be determined from the readings.

PROCEDURE:

1. Connect the circuit as shown in figure. 2. For output characteristics Keep IB=10A by varying VBB. 3. Vary VCC in steps and note down IC and VCE. 4. Repeat step 3 for IB=20A and 30A 5. Draw the output characteristics by taking VCE on X-axis and IC on Y-axis for different values of IB. 6. For input characteristics Keep VCE=0, Vary VBB in steps and note down IB and VBE. 7. Repeat step 6 for VCE = 1V and VCE= 2V 8. Draw the input characteristics by taking VBE on X-axis and IB on Y-axis for different values of VCE.
