Proposed Syllabus & Pattern - 2013 Ras Prelims: Single Screening Paper

The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) exam is conducted annually by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission to recruit officers for the state civil service in Rajasthan. Candidates must pass a preliminary exam testing their general knowledge, Rajasthan specific knowledge, and aptitude. Those who qualify then take a main exam consisting of 4 subjective papers testing additional domains like history, science, and socio-economic issues. The exam also includes sections on Hindi, English, and Rajasthani languages. Final selection is based on performance in the main exam and interview. RAS officers are responsible for crucial sub-district level government services and administration.

RAJASTHAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE EXAM (RAS) Rajasthan Administrative Service,Popularly known as RAS, is the supreme civil service of the

Indian state of Rajasthan. The recruitment to these Service is made on the basis of annual Competitive Examination. The officers are included in the state cadre of civil service officers. The cadres usually start from a designation lower in rank than Indian Administrative Service (IAS) (one of the All India Services). However, promotee RAS officers gradually can take posts equivalent to IAS officers.RAS exam is organised by Rajasthan Public Service Commission(RPSC), a Rajasthan government body. The RAS officers hold various crucial posts at sub-district level while delivering various government services apart from conducting revenue administration and maintenance of law and order. Generally vacancies of the RAS are open once in one or two years but in recent times it is being held on annual basis. RPSC is changing the syllabus (approved by the rajasthan govt,) from 2013 of prelims & mains exams...it could be like that... (we will update you a.s.a. it is officially declared)

SINGLE SCREENING PAPER GENERAL GK-GS , RAJASTHAN GK , APTITUDE PART (COMPULSORY FOR ALL) 3 HRS. - 200 M.C.Qs. = 200 MARKS (1/3 NEGATIVE MARKING APPLICABLE FOR EACH WRONG ANSWER) RAS PRE QUALIFIERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPEAR IN RAS MAINS

(4 SUBJECTIVE PAPERS OF 200 MARKS EACH = 800 MARKS TOTAL ) 3 PAPERS ON GK-GS WHICH CONSISTS OF PAPER-1 GENERAL GK-GS & RAJASTHAN GK INCLUDES HISTORY, CULTURE, GEOGRAPHY, PAPER-2 SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY, ENVIRONMENTAL, COMPUTER, IT, STATS, APTITUDE.. PAPER-3 SOCIO-ECONOMIC-POLITICAL--CURRENT NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL ISSUES, GENERAL LAWS SOCIAL PLANNING & WELFARE- HRD- GOVERNANCE-ADMINISTRATIVE ISSUES PAPER-4 GENERAL HINDI (100M) + ENGLISH (80 M) + RAJASTHANI (20 M) RAS MAIN QUALIFIERS ARE CALLED UPON FOR INTERVIEW (100 M) GRAND TOTAL - 800+100=900 M FINAL MERIT IS DERIVED FROM THE GRAND TOTAL. SERVICES ARE ALLOTED ACCORDING TO THE RANK & CHOICES OF CANDIDATES
