An adjective is a word that describes a noun. Examples of adjectives in Norwegian include "snille" which describes "elever", "gode" describing "karakterer", and "vakker" describing "fugl". Adjectives can be positive, comparative, or superlative depending on what they describe such as "nice", "nicer", and "nicest" respectively or "thin", "thinner", and "thinnest".
