The speaking test has three parts as follows: PART 1 (4-5 minutes) Questions about yourself and everyday situations PART 2 (3-4 minutes) 1-2 minute talk, your own experience Topic provided by examiner
PART 3 (4-5 minutes) General but more abstract topics, related to Part 2
- Usually takes place 2 days before the written exam - One examiner, one candidate - Recording - Trained examiners
- Follow examiners instructions, listen carefully - Speak clearly, answer only the questions you are asked - Examiner knows if your answers are memorized, you will lose marks for this

NO. Examiner marks you according to your performance across all three parts of the test.

The speaking test is a LANGUAGE TEST, NOT a test of your views or general knowledge. Use expressions that give you some time to think about how you will answer a question.
