Preparation of Course Files by All Teaching Faculty from 2013-14


The Course file should typically contain the following items:
Why should we study the course/Applications of the course (This could be prepared towards the end of semester/academic year). Support of Principal/HOD/Senior Faculty Members could be taken. Ideas could be borrowed from friends also. Syllabus (as prescribed by JNTU Hyderabad) Academic Calendar (Please collect from Examination Branch/Department) Teaching Plan (as per ISO Norms) Students List (as per Attendance Register) Lecture Notes (including illustrative examples, pictures, diagrams, etc.). Downloaded material could also be used. Suitable Box files (@1 per Course File) and necessary stationery (A4 papers, etc.) will be provided to all faculty members. Lecture Notes could be about 100-150 pages for a semester course and around 200 pages for I B. Tech. course. The number of pages is NOT fixed, however. Assignments & Tutorial Material (Problem Sheets, etc,) Unit-wise Question Bank Internal Exam Question Papers JNTUH End semester / year question papers Course Handouts, if any. Please keep them to minimum, say, 2-3 handouts of 2-4 pages. Related advanced topics/real time examples Internet based resources on the subject References Attendance Register (Photocopy of the Attendance Register - Relevant pages) can be taken at the end of the semester / I B. Tech. Marks secured by students (after the results are announced) Results Analysis vis--vis Remarks

The notes should preferably be type-written or it could be a well-maintained manuscript. All faculty members are required to start working on these course files immediately for the courses they are presently offering.

Please use the following parameters in MS word to make the Lecture Notes uniform:
Paper Top margin Left margin Line spacing Font : : : : : A4 1 1 Bottom margin Right margin : 0.8 : 1

1.15 (can be modified later, if required) Verdana 10 pt for text and 8.5/9.5 pt for tables.

Note: If there are too many columns, Arial Narrow font could be used to accommodate the same.

All text is to be justified. All tables need to be kept at the centre of page.
