Weekly Outline:
Activity session subject : Locations (week 4/4) Vocabulary: Locations: city, bank, school, hospital, library, train station, police station, fire station, city hall, park, shopping centre, market, zoo, house, bridge, road, intersection, four way We have our new weather chart finished, we will review: stormy, sunny, rain, snow, hot, cold, cloudy. Grammar focus; Whats the weather like today? What was the weather like yesterday? Today its sunny/cloudy Go to the supermarket/zoo How manystudents? Activities / songs / games: Activities; Guess what Im drawing? Using the whiteboard I will draw various locations including the zoo (whilst teaching and eliciting the animals), market, city hall, a bridge, a road and traffic lights. I will ask the students what weather condition they would like, and then draw it. One-by-one on the whiteboard, when I say go to the supermarket/zoo the students will draw a stick figure where they should be. At the end Ill ask how many students at the supermarket/zoo..? We should review all the new vocab we have learnt this past month, so we will play a short game of fly swat every day. We have a new mystery box including all our previous flashcards. Students will pick out a card and try to say the answer.

Phonics This week we are reviewing letter names and sounds s-v, we have started our activity books, where we hope to recognise the letters and we may learn new vocabulary. We will have started our big book class activity where we make beginning letter words and do a connect the dots exercise together as a class. Review We are reviewing months of the year, weather, and colours. Every day the students will be asked what day it is and one student will change the days of the week chart as well as the weather chart. Notes / parent follow up: If your child has come home with their writing activity booklet, they need to catch up on their letter and sounds practice, the page should also be coloured in. There will be a choice of 3 letters, you have to circle the correct beginning letter of the word shown.
