INTRODUCTION I. Fact: For every person who dies from a smoking-related Attention, disease, 20 more people suffer with at least one serious illness from smoking. Reveal Topic, Fact: Worldwide, tobacco use causes more than 5 million deaths per year, and current trends show that tobacco use will cause more than 8 million deaths annually by 2030. Fact: Smoking may cause cancer, heart disease, stroke, and lung diseases (including emphysema, bronchitis, and chronic airway obstruction). Fact: On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than Pause nonsmokers. II. Why risk that? Why risk your longevity by smoking a cigarette just to relieve stress? We are going to be discussing why it is important not to smoke. Main Point BODY I. Every time you puff a cigarette you are narrowing the air passages in your lungs which makes breathing difficult. time cigarette smoke destroys lung tissue, and may trigger changes that grow into cancer. If you get cancer then you may have to endure the long process of Chemo-Therapy and your family and friends may have to watch you suffer from the pain that you brought to yourself. So as a result of choosing to smoke, you are not only affecting yourself and your health but you are also risking depression for your loved ones, because they are not going to want to see you suffer. CONCLUSION I. Do us all a favor and STOP, in fact dont even begin. Understand the risks of smoking and find other alternatives of dealing with stress. Smoking is not going to make the stress go away, as soon as you put that cigarette down youre still going to have to deal with whatever is that was bothering you. II. Stop.. !
