Control Rod Corrosion Protection

Note

Application of corrosion protection compound is performed after installation, adjustment, jam nut torquing, and safety wiring of the control rods is complete.

1. Application of corrosion protection coating is required for the following: a. Torque shaft to boost servo control rods WP 1124 00, WP 1125 00, WP 1127 00 and WP 1128 00. b. Boost servo to mixer control rods WP 1129 00, WP 1131 00 and WP 1132 00. c. Mixer to primary servo control rods WP 1133 00, WP 1134 00 and WP 1135 00. d. Yaw lever to forward quadrant control rod WP 1137 00. e. Tail rotor servo to tail rotor quadrant pushrod WP 1143 00. 2. Determine which corrosion preventive compound is currently applied to control rods: a. Corrosion preventive compound, WP 2012 00, Item 98, is a soft amber gel. b. Corrosion preventive compound, WP 2012 00, Item 104, is a firm black coating.
Note

Application of corrosion protection coating shall be performed after installation, adjustment, jam nut torquing, and lockwiring of control rod is complete.

3. Touch up corrosion protection coating, using the same compound that is currently on surface of control rods. Apply corrosion protection coating to the following areas: All threaded portions Jam nuts Lockwashers Slotted keyways Inspection holes
