POINTERS TO REVIEW FOR THE FIRST QUARTER EXAM:

1. 30 idioms
2. Homonyms (homophones and homographs)
3. Parts of Speech
4. Sentence Types according to type and function
5. Sentence Parts
6. Basic Sentence Patterns
7. Subject-Verb Agreement
8. News Writing
PROJECT GUIDELINES:
1. Make sure you have an approved topic to write about.
2. Accomplish the News brainstorming worksheet.
3. Start to write your lead and have it checked by your teacher. Think about your headline
also.
4. Once approved, you may start organizing your obtained data (e.g. interviews, research
documents, or the ones that you provided on your brainstorming worksheet).
5. Start writing once you have completed and organized your data and sources.
6. Edit and Reedit. Use the self-evaluation and peer-evaluation sheets. Make sure you
have your partner for the peer-evaluation.
7. After careful editing and proofreading, you may start typing your news article on a
clean bond paper following the guidelines below:
