Summary
After having developed the circuit design, we have been able to realise many things. Firstly, that the pre analysis data is an approach to the final design, and it will become more accurate with the experience. We found some problems in cable CSA selection, and this can only be overcome with experience. Secondly, the importance of future expansion, if we had not used the software, we would not have realised that our cables would not have been able to carry the current in case of expansion of the electrical circuits. We considered a 25% expansion that would have made us change some cables because we would have had some volt drop problems with a higher current. And thirdly, discrimination problems, it would have been much more difficult to be sure of not having any discrimination problem in our installation. The use of the software speeds up this task that we would have only been able to overcome with experience. Our installation will provide all the current needed for the activities that will be developed within it. We have tried to make both an economic and efficient installation always complying with the current regulations. We can state that our installation will provide the safety needed, as it has been proved its response in case of short circuit or earth fault. To finish with, we can say that Bentley Hevacomp Connect is an efficient and intuitive tool that can make it easier to produce any electrical installation if it is properly used. In my case, I had never used it before and after 3-4 hours using it I started to feel quite confident in what I was doing.
