SUMMARY OF PNOYS SONA

At the start of his speech Mr. Pres. Mentioned that his term is rearing its end. Its good to see that he knows the problem & challenges that our country has faced are facing & will be facing. He started, to do things like giving informal settlers decent homes & adding billions of pesos to the funds for education, health & the like. These things are some of the things that will help improve our country. The Philippines might not improve in just a blink of an eye but somehow, it will. Slowly but surely, through the efforts of leaders, some of which are names that Pnoy has mentioned. It is also good to hear that he has set his priorities straight. He pointed out the project he had done for the Filipino people, starting with the pantawid pamilyang Pilipino program. He also started about their goals for the education of the Filipino children, which is to increase the quality of learning. So that when they graduated, they can actually grab the opportunities that are made being available for them. He touched the topic about agricultural sectors & the growths that have occured from the exports to reserves. The pres. Mentioned several other areas where in our country improved since the last time he had his state of the nation address or SONA. These areas include fisheries, the hacienda Luisita issues. Hacienda Luisita issues, Philhealth, disaster preparedness, (which includes floods &storms) housing, livelihood projects & national defense (policeman & armies included). Another important thing that he said is concerning the unending conflict with the MILF. Its also a good thing that he knows how much money is worth now a days & carefully thinks where to put a specific amount of money as a budget. I think that the President is wise in considering what bill to pass or what laws to reform. Also, he is making a good move in having the departments under him to what they are supposed to do and not what they want to. At the conclusion of his speech, he mentioned about the possible thing might happen after he stepped down from the position. He said that change is something we are experiencing now. I believe him hopefully, the change that we are experiencing will continue for the betterment of our country, as he said.
