Ive been learning English since I was a child.

Uses
1. It is used to talk about actions that started in the past and continue in the present. Shes been teaching English for ten years. 2. We use words like for and since with the present perfect continuous to answer questions with how long.

3. We also use phrases such as all day, all my life, all morning, all month, all week and all year with the present perfect continuous.

Present Perfect and PP Continuous


1. In many cases we can use the present perfect and the present perfect continuous with for and since with no real difference in meaning. 2. If a verb describes a state we cannot use the present perfect continuous.

They have been knowing each other for more than fifty years.
3. We use present perfect continuous to emphasize on the time and not on the action.
