dlopen Errors in syslog

Question
Receiving dlopen errors in syslog similar to the following:
dlopen of user option: bin failed: a file or directory in the
pathname does not exist
dlopen of user option: bin failed: no such file or directory where
the word "bin" may vary

Answer
Environment
AIX Version 3.2
This message is usually due to a syntax error in the /etc/netsvc.conf file. In this instance, the netsvc.conf file
probably contains "hosts=local, bin". It should be bind, not bin.
Correct the syntax error in the /etc/netsvc.conf file, and the errors should cease.
