Monday, October 21 -October Reading Logs are due. Children who return logs receive a reading award during our October assembly and a Pizza Hut certificate. Monday, October 21 Habitat Projects are due. Thursday, October 24 Picture Day Friday, October 25 Scholastic Book Orders are due Friday, November 8 at 6:30 - Kindergarten & First Grade Veteran's Day Program. Students need to be in their classrooms by 6:10

At A Glance

What Were Learning


Literature: We will continue with Unit 3 Things That Go! We will be focusing on retelling and comparing and contrasting stories. Phonics: A lot of new learning is happening in Phonics. This week we will learn a new syllable division rule and begin learning about vowel digraphs. Decodable readers will begin to come home for some at home practice. Math: We do Unit 2 Module 3 this week. We are practicing writing equations and facts families. Writing: We will review ways to tell and writing our stories. Science: We begin our two week unit on Matter. Moving forward from learning to think like a scientist, we will investigate three states of matter; solid, liquid and gas. Bragging Point: Next time you are in the building check out the Fire Safety acrostic poem our class wrote. It is on the little bulletin board in the hallway next to our door.

Please practice your child's Veteran's Day line(s). Also please let Mrs. Noreen know if your child will not be able to attend the program.
