UTSA Department of Human Resources

This document summarizes UTSA's new employee separation process. The old process had several problems, including a lack of advance notice to key departments, inconsistent account termination, and outdated forms. Under the new process launched in January 2009, separating employees access an online separation notification form to inform 15 key departments. Departments respond by email to indicate if the employee is cleared, and any outstanding issues are resolved before the employee finalizes the separation at HR. The goals of the new process are to improve property return, account security, financial obligation resolution, and stakeholder notification.
