Synopsis ON Design and Analysis of Double Girder Bridge-Type Over Head Crane

This document provides an overview of the design and analysis of a double girder bridge-type overhead crane. It discusses the history and components of overhead cranes. The objective is to design a crane with a fully hydraulic operation system to reduce problems and costs. Software like ANSYS and PRO/E will be used to analyze the crane model, which will have a 50-ton capacity and be made of carbon steel.

SYNOPSIS ON DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF DOUBLE GIRDER BRIDGETYPE OVER HEAD CRANE

UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF: MR.UMESH YADAV

SUBMITTED BY : RAHUL KUMAR YADAV LAJJA RAM JITENDRA YADAV (Project group no. -10)

An overview
A double girder bridge-type overhead crane, commonly called a bridge crane, is a type of crane found in industries. It consists of parallel runways with a travelling bridge spanning the gap. A hoist, the lifting component of a crane, travels along the bridge.

Brief history of over-head crane

1830: First Crane developed at Demag Cranes & Components in Germany. 1854: Sampson Moore & Co in Liverpool , England patented a new winch mechanism that allowed the lifting of heavier weights (such as naval guns) by an electric motor. 1861: First steam powered overhead crane, installed by JohnRamsbottom at the Crewe Railway workshops. 1887: Ludwig Stuckenholz company introduces overhead cranes with three elctricals motors. The limited development was done regarding the driving mechanisms of the crane .
