Let There Be Light!

Thomas Edison was one of the most famous inventors of all time, known for inventing the incandescent light bulb. He spent many years experimenting with different materials for a light bulb filament, testing thousands of plant fibers. In 1879, Edison was awarded a patent for his successful electric lamp, which consisted of a carbonized filament housed inside a glass vacuum bulb. Edison went on to make many other contributions, including establishing the first commercial electric power plant in New York City and inventing over 1,000 devices during his career.
