How To Read The Pump Performance Curves

The document describes how to read pump performance curves to determine operating characteristics. It provides two steps to find either material discharge pressure or air consumption at a specific delivery rate and air pressure: 1) Locate the delivery rate along the bottom scale and follow up to intersect the air pressure curve, 2) Read the value for either pressure on the left or consumption on the right. The document then shows performance curve charts for various pump models.

How to Read the Pump Performance Curves

The following is a typical procedure for obtaining operating characteristics from a pump performance curve:

To find Material Discharge Pressure (psi) at a specific delivery (GPM) and air pressure (psi): 1) Locate required delivery along bottom scale. 2) Follow vertical line up to intersection with air pressure curve (solid line). Read discharge pressure on left scale. To find Air Consumption (CFM) at a specific delivery (GPM) and air pressure (psi): 1) Locate required delivery along bottom scale. 2) Follow vertical line up to intersection with air pressure curve (dashed line). Read air consumption on right scale.
