Procedure for Establishing an Independent Study (ECE695) or Independent Study - Substitution of Publications for Course Work (ECE795)
1.
For ECE 695 - The student and his/her project adviser must prepare a statement explaining the topic, scope and schedule of the proposed Independent Study. The statement must indicate whether the course is to substitute for regular coursework (for M.S. students), will constitute the required Project for M.S. Plan B students or will constitute a Curricular Practical Training (CPT).
2.
For ECE795 - The form requires a list of complete citations of at least two peer-reviewed journal or conference publications in which the Students Ph.D. research, which was performed while enrolled at CSU, has been accepted for publication, either completely or with minor revisions. NOTE: ECE795 is ONLY for Ph.D. students substituting publications for regular coursework. Student prepares and submits the Proposal for Independent Study and supporting documentation. Upon approval of the proposal, the student will be so advised and will be permitted to register for the course.
