Process Paper

General Sherman's March to the Sea was chosen as the topic because it seemed more interesting than just a law change, focusing on destruction instead. Research was conducted initially online at school and taking notes on sources, then more at home to complete an annotated bibliography. A website was created to present the information using technology, as the group had never made a website before. The topic relates to the class theme of how events can change history, as Sherman's march impacted the South, slavery, and reunited the North and South.

General Sherman's March to the Sea.

Tim Berry Caleb Brown Group Website

Why we chose our topic:

We had a list of topics that we could chose from. We each brought in and narrowed it down to !. We

narrowed it down to General Sherman. Then we decided that topic was too broad being that he did many things in his life time. We finally decided on his March to the Sea. "t seemed li#e it was more interesting. We thought people would rather here about destruction then how a law was changed.

$ow we conducted our research:

We first went on the internet at school. Then we too# notes on what sources we had found and where we had found them. That still was not enough so we both went home and did some more research and brought in our finding and shared them to each other. We had enough primary sources and secondary sources to finish our %nnotati&e Bibliography. We finished that and turned it on time.

$ow we thought of and created our website:

We choose the website because we wanted to use technology in our pro'ect. We also had ne&er made a website so we wanted to see what that would be li#e. We used the information we had and designed the website on a paper that our teacher ga&e to us. Then we went home and started e(ploring the weebly website creator. "t was not how we thought it would be so we changed a few of our plans and we were good.

$ow our topic relates to the theme:

)ur pro'ect relates the theme in a lot of ways. *irst of all it went on in South Carolina and se&eral other states. "t also changed history a lot. "f this ne&er happened things would be a lot different then they are today. We might still be using sla&ery or the +orth and the South would still be split into , parts.
