Using Creo 2.

0s Helical Sweep Tool


1. Select the helical sweep icon (under the sweep tool). Make sure nothing on the screen is selected.

2. Under the references tab, click define. 3. Select the plane on which to sketch the profile (not the cross section) of the helix and select sketch. The profile of the helix is the starting point and end point of the helix. 4. Select the sketch view button. 5. Draw a line specifying the profile of the helix.

6. Click the green checkmark accepting the sketch. 7. Click the references tab and select an axis for the helix to revolve around. 8. Click the sketch icon . 9. Click on sketch view. At the intersection of the cross hairs draw the cross section of the helix. In the example below, I have drawn a circle.

10. Click the green checkmark to accept the sketch. 11. To change the pitch, or the vertical height between each revolution of the helix, change the number in the following box. If you pitch is too small, compared to the size of the cross section, you will get an error
